GETTING GREENSTEINED Barry Greenstein's "Ace on the River"

One of the most enterprising members in poker's history, high-stakes cash game and tournament specialist Barry Greenstein has a lighter side. Though Barry did his best to dodge the press wanting a piece of him going into the 2007 World Series of Poker, we hunted him down high atop his unfurnished Panorama Towers condo in Las Vegas. There we were able to tap into the other side of the usually stone-faced Greenstein and discover some of what makes this man tick.

The author of Ace on the River takes us through a couple of his favorite chapters, including "Poker and Your Family" and "Poker and Your Sexuality."

"The first two-thirds of the book is more about poker lifestyle. One of the important things that I think is overlooked and I think I've added to the literature is one of my chapters, Poker in the Family. It really is important to spend time with your family and be able to do it in a way that's disassociated from your poker."

"The other thing I noticed by me talking about some of these issues like family and sexuality is it let people know that I was talking about all the things I think about. These are the normal things we all think about through our days and weeks in whatever professions we're involved in."

"I'm just going to be going to all the World Series parties, probably stay up until four or five in the morning and miss most of the events cause I'll sleep through them. Actually, as funny as that sounds that's pretty much what's been happening to me the last several years. My parties are poker games and there are good poker games at the World Series. That's the time of the year when I try to make most of my money. It's like I'm a businessman who's big time of the year is the World Series of Poker and that's when I'm hoping to make enough money so I can hibernate during the winter months." - Barry Greenstein
